Court Side Socks
Happy Socktober! Did you think I forgot about that? Nope, I did not! Even though I’ve been thinking about so many other things lately, like my book, all those new sweaters I have on my needles, all the new beanies I’ve been knitting… Seems like there a lot of things going on on this side of the screen! But there can’t be an October, Socktober, without a new sock pattern release.
Meet Court Side Socks!
There’s something about stripes that always feels fresh. Maybe it’s the playfulness of colour, or maybe it’s the way a simple stripe can completely change the mood of a knit. Court Side Socks take that familiar joy and pair it with easy texture, a little structure, a little stretch, and just enough movement to keep things interesting.
Inspired by clean lines and court-side style, these socks blend everyday wearability with a playful twist. The textured fabric adds rhythm and comfort, while a few intarsia stripes bring that perfect pop of energy and colour.
Worked from the cuff down with a classic heel flap, Court Side Socks are both comfortable to wear and enjoyable to knit. It’s the kind of pair made for days when comfort meets color.
To celebrate the release, enjoy 20% off the pattern with code COURTSIDE until Wednesday next week, October 29th, 2025 (end of the day, Helsinki time).
For my sample, I used 4-ply Merino Sock by Botanical Yarn, a soft and springy blend of merino and nylon that shows off texture beautifully. The main colour is Pampa’s Grass, a gentle gray that makes the bright stripes truly shine. It’s one of those colours I will always love!
The stripes themselves came from a joyful mix of mini skeins — a few colors from my Popsicle Socks mini set and others from the Flock Fiber Fest set from 2024. I used shades of hot pink, yellow, mint, and dusty pink, but this pattern invites endless color play. It’s a great chance to use up those treasured leftovers or create your own favorite palette.
I can’t wait to see your versions of Court Side Socks — bold, soft, minimal, or full of color. However you knit them, they’re sure to bring a little brightness to your everyday wardrobe.
