A diary for all my knitting and making
My Current Design Favourites
What do I wear the most right now from my own designs? Right now, these four pieces feel especially close to my heart, even in real life. Each one carries its own mood and rhythm, but together they reflect so much of what I love about knitting: texture, thoughtful construction, and that gentle balance between comfort and beauty.
Where new projects really begin
The start of the new year and the month of January always get me thinking about beginnings. I keep returning to the image of a white, empty page: a gentle nudge to start fresh or to keep going, to take stock and consider the possibility of new choices. Naturally, my thoughts drift toward new projects, new designs, and new ideas. And if you know me at all, you know that I’m a master of casting on new things and just as easily I can abandon them and move on to something else.
Noël Scarf
There’s a new pattern to start the year! Noël Scarf is generous without feeling bulky, elegant yet easy to wear. It wraps comfortably for cold winter walks and drapes beautifully indoors, making it just as suited for everyday layering as it is for special occasions.
Gingerbread Sweater
Gingerbread Sweater is my new favourite Christmas sweater — the kind that feels just as much a part of the season as twinkling lights, paper stars, and carefully iced biscuits cooling on the kitchen counter. It’s inspired by the joy of decorating gingerbread: delicate frosting lines, soft curves, and that feeling of taking your time with something small and special.
Rose Bud Balaclava
There’s something quietly comforting about a balaclava. It’s both practical and a little bit whimsical (and sometimes funny); it feels like wrapping yourself in softness from the very first hint of winter. Seeing the balaclavas take the stage of winter accessories in past maybe 5 years, I have really tried and tried to make my own perfect version.
Fleur Shawl
There’s a special kind of magic in Advent knits: the slow rhythm of daily making, the quiet anticipation of what comes next, and the joy of colour unfolding one shade at a time. I love how any type of advent knit or project will build the joyful atmosphere all throughout the month of December. So here’s one idea for you: Fleur Shawl.
Barley Beanie
There’s something endlessly comforting about a good cable beanie, the kind that feels as cozy to knit as it does to wear. Barley Beanie is just that: a classic, cabled beanie with a deep folded ribbed brim for extra warmth and a snug, timeless shape.
Court Side Socks
Happy Socktober! Did you think I forgot about that? Nope, I did not! Even though I’ve been thinking about so many other things lately, like my book, all those new sweaters I have on my needles, all the new beanies I’ve been knitting… Seems like there a lot of things going on on this side of the screen! But there can’t be an October, Socktober, without a new sock pattern release.
A little birthday celebration
Today I’m celebrating my birthday — another year has gone by and I’m eager to see what the next one will bring! This year I’m feeling especially grateful for everyone who has joined me on this creative journey. My year has been filled with a lot of work (maybe a bit too much at times), a lot of knitting, a new book and many adventures.
Out now: My Dream Knits
Today is a very special day: my new book My Dream Knits is finally out in the world! This collection has been living in my heart and on my needles for a long time, and it feels magical to be able to share it with you at last.
