My Current Design Favourites

There are moments in the year when I like to pause and look back at what’s been living on my needles - and just as importantly, what’s been in highest rotation in my wardrobe! Because as a knitwear designer, I can’t buy any sweaters, beanies or scarves ready-made… How could I?

Anyway, the favourites are always changing, from season to season and often from the lat finished item to the next one! However, some designs become quiet companions: these are the ones you reach for day after day, wrap around your shoulders for cold winter days, or pull on before heading out into snowy winter activities. Right now, these four pieces feel especially close to my heart. Each one carries its own mood and rhythm, but together they reflect so much of what I love about knitting: texture, thoughtful construction, and that gentle balance between comfort and beauty.

Wild Air Sweater

Wild Air is all about movement and ease. It’s a design that feels light and open, with a relaxed silhouette that invites layering and everyday wear. I wanted it to have a sense of breath — something you can throw on without thinking, yet still feel beautifully put together.

What I love most about Wild Air is how the fabric comes alive in your hands. The plain Stockinette stitch has a soft rhythm to it, engaging without being demanding, making it a perfect companion for long evenings or quiet afternoons. It’s the kind of knit that feels modern and effortless, while my yarn choice offers enough movement and change to keep things interesting.

If you enjoy garments that blur the line between cozy and polished, Wild Air might be just the piece.

Rose Bud Balaclava

Rose Bud began with an idea of softness and shelter. It’s a balaclava worked in half brioche (also known as fisherman’s rib), framed by simple ribbed edges and shaped with a few carefully placed short rows. The result is a piece that feels sculptural yet gentle — something that hugs your face and neck without ever feeling restrictive.

Held together with a strand of DK-weight yarn and silk mohair, Rose Bud has that airy halo I love so much, adding warmth without weight. It’s practical, yes, but also quietly romantic: a small project that feels special from the very first stitches.

I often think of Rose Bud as a modern winter accessory — perfect for cold walks, cycling through town, or simply staying warm while standing outside with a cup of coffee.

Sticky Toffee Cardigan

Sticky Toffee Cardigan is pure comfort knitting. It’s relaxed, oversized, and designed to be lived in. This is the cardigan you reach for when you want to feel wrapped up and at ease, whether you’re working at your desk, heading out for errands, or just curling up on the sofa.

The raglan construction is straightforward and satisfying, letting the brioche texture and shape do all the talking. I wanted Sticky Toffee to feel generous in fit and cosy in spirit, with details that elevate it from a basic cardigan into something truly special.

It’s also one of those projects that grows quickly on your needles, which always feels like a small gift during the knitting process.

Mellow Shawl

Mellow Shawl is, as the name suggests, all about softness and flow. This is a piece designed for slow knitting and gentle transitions, an intuitive shawl that builds gradually, with stripes and colour blocks that feel calming and meditative to work.

I love how versatile Mellow is: worn loosely over your shoulders at home, wrapped snugly around your neck on chilly days, or layered over a coat for extra warmth. It’s lightweight yet cozy, elegant without being precious. For me, Mellow embodies that quiet luxury of handknits: something simple, thoughtful, and still endlessly wearable.

Each of these designs holds a slightly different place in my wardrobe, but they all share the same foundation: approachable construction, tactile fabrics, and pieces meant to be worn again and again.
